RIYADH: Saudi Arabia announced eight deaths from COVID-19 and 783 new infections on Wednesday. Of the new cases, 341 were recorded in Riyadh, 142 in Makkah, 131 in the the Eastern Province, 30 in Asir, 25 in Madinah, 22 in Hail, 18 in Tabuk, 17 in Jazan, 10 in Najran, nine in Al-Jouf and nine in the Northern Borders region. The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 381,189 after 417 more patients recovered from the virus. A total of 6,719 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far. Over 5.5 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Saudi Arabia to date.
