New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia fall below 1,300-mark for second straight day

Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — Single-day COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia fell to 1,142 on Saturday, for the second straight day, after surging past the 1,300-mark for the first time in more than nine months. According to the Ministry of Health, 13 more people died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus.This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 439,847 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,237. The ministry also reported 1,089 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 423,795. The Riyadh region reported the highest number of new cases with 336 followed by the Makkah region with 250, the Eastern region with 158, and the Madinah region with 97 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 8,815 active cases and 1,329 of them were in critical condition.
