Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — Single-day COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia fell to 1,067 on Sunday, for the third straight day, after surging past the 1,300-mark for the first time in more than nine months. According to the Ministry of Health, 12 more people died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 440,914 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,249. The ministry also reported 895 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 424,690. The Makkah region reported the highest number of new cases with 322 followed by the Riyadh region with 292, the Eastern region with 138, and the Madinah region with 105 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just two of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 8,975 active cases and 1,344 of them were in critical condition.
