JEDDAH — The Arab Coalition Forces on Sunday morning intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone fired by the Iranian-backed Al-Houthi militias towards Khamis Mushayt, the southern city of Saudi Arabia, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA). In a statement, coalition spokesman, Brig. Gen. Turki Al Maliki, said, "The Joint Forces will continue to implement all necessary operational procedures to safeguard civilians and civilian objects in accordance with the customary International Humanitarian Law." Meanwhile, the UAE has condemned the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias’ systematic attempts to attack civilians and civilian objects in Khamis Mushayt, with an explosive drone, which was intercepted by the coalition forces. In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), the UAE reiterated that these systematic terror attacks by the Houthis reflect their blatant disregard for the international community and all international laws and norms. The Ministry urged the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to stop these recurrent acts, which target critical infrastructure and threaten the security and stability of the Kingdom, as well as global energy supplies. It also stressed that the continued threat of these attacks in recent days is a grave escalation that represents new evidence of this militias" attempts to undermine security and stability in the region. The UAE renewed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia over these subversive terrorist attacks and reiterated its stance against all threats to the Kingdom"s security and stability. The UAE also reiterated its support for all measures taken by Saudi authorities to maintain the safety and security of its citizens. MoFAIC also stressed that the security of the UAE and that of Saudi Arabia are indivisible and that any threat facing the Kingdom is considered a threat to the security and stability of the UAE.In Cairo, the Arab Parliament has condemned the terrorist Houthi militia"s attacks with two explosive-laden boats in the south of the Red Sea, which the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen has succeeded in thwarting and confronting them near the port of Salif in Yemen. The Parliament also condemned the terrorist militia’s launching of a bomb-laden UAV towards the city of Khamis Mushayt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Arab Parliament, in a statement, explained that these cowardly terrorist attacks do not target the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Yemen only, but rather represent a serious threat to regional security and the security of maritime shipping lines and global trade in the Red Sea, which is one of the most important waterways in the world, adding that these attacks require an urgent and decisive international stand to put an end to these repeated terrorist attacks. The Parliament stressed that the terrorist militia"s insistence on targeting civilians and civilian objects reflects its blatant challenge to the international community, calling on the international community to take immediate and urgent action and assume its responsibilities to stop these cowardly terrorist acts that target the security and stability of the region and the world. The Arab Parliament affirmed its full support for measures being taken by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, under the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to ensure the security of the Red Sea Region, voicing its full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in terms of the procedures it takes to protect its security and safety of its citizens and residents. In Jeddah, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has utterly denounced terrorist Houthi militia’s continuous launching of bomb-laden UAVs that target civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, praising the capabilities of the Coalition Forces to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen that managed on Sunday dawn to intercept and destroy the UAV that was launched by the Houthi militia towards Khamis Mushayt. Dr. Al-Othaimeen renewed OIC’s support to all procedures taken by the coalition forces to deal with the practices of the Houthi militia, in a bid to protect civilians and civil objects, reiterating the Organization’s stance and solidarity with the Kingdom in facing these terrorist crimes perpetrated by the militia. The OIC secretary general also voiced support for all procedures being taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its security and stability and the safety of citizens and residents. — Agencies
