RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Saturday concluded the second phase of its medical campaign to fight blindness in the Sudanese city of Omdurman. Between May 21 and 29, over 3,000 patients were examined at Makkah Hospital in Omdurman. A total of 400 surgeries were performed, 1,600 eye medications were distributed and 400 spectacles were provided to patients. In January, the center signed an agreement with Al-Basar International Foundation to fight blindness and other eye disease in Yemen, Bangladesh, Sudan, Nigeria and Pakistan. Under the agreement, 41 medical campaigns will be organized during 2021. The drive will benefit 262,400. The center is carrying out several humanitarian projects in different countries.
