Saudi Arabia Stresses Compliance with Precautionary Measures During Family Gatherings

The Saudi Ministry of Health stressed the need to comply with precautionary measures to prevent the outbreak of the COVID-19 during family gatherings and social events. Saudi authorities reminded citizens and residents of the importance of wearing masks, avoiding handshakes and keeping a safe distance, to limit the spread of the virus and preserve the health and safety of all members of society. Saudi Arabia continues to register more than 1,000 cases of infections per day. On Monday, the ministry announced 1,109 confirmed cases and the recovery of 1,148 patients, while the number of active cases reached 10,075, including 1,596 in critical condition. Meanwhile, Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Madinah region, inaugurated on Monday an inoculation center at Taibah University, which will provide vaccine to the residents of the region, with a daily capacity of 15,000 doses. Dr. Saad Khosh Hal, Dean of the College of Medicine and General Supervisor of the Vaccine Center at the university, explained that the new center includes 48 clinics staffed by a specialized medical and nursing team, and will operate throughout the day to serve as many people as possible. In Kuwait, the Ministry of Health announced on Monday that it had detected infections with the Indian mutation, now referred to as the Delta variant. The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, said that the ministry conducted genetic tests to find out the type of mutations prevalent in the country and to open up prospects for cooperation on the international level, with the aim to unify efforts to combat the virus. Al-Sanad urged citizens and residents to adhere to the precautionary measures, including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, in addition to taking the Covid-19 vaccine as the only means to eradicate the virus.
