RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has directed the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action (KSrelief), the charity arm of Saudi Arabia, to urgently support Malaysia with medical supplies to help the Asian country overcome challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic. The royal order comes in response to the request made by Malaysian Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein during his talks with Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman. In a statement, Supervisor-General of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, who is also an adviser at the Royal Court, said that King Salman’s directive demonstrates the depth of the strong relations between the two countries. According to Al-Rabeeah, the medical aid comprises one million doses of coronavirus vaccines, medical devices, care and treatment devices, preventive supplies, and other medical needs. "We will coordinate with the office of the Malaysian Foreign Minister to secure a contract with one of the approved international vaccine makers to supply the required quantities directly to Malaysia," Al-Rabeeah said. Al-Rabeeah extended his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for this gesture, which confirms the leadership’s keenness to support friendly countries around the world in various crises and circumstances.
