Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, the KSrelief general supervisor, said Aisha is doing well and interacting with her parents RIYADH: On Monday, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, the general supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid (KSrelief), announced that Aisha, a Yemeni girl who underwent surgery to remove a parasitic twin, is in a stable condition and doing well. Al-Rabeeha, who headed the medical and surgical team that operated on Aisha, announced that after 12 days of the separation surgery, she was transferred from the intensive care unit to the children’s ward at the King Abdullah Specialty Children’s Hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. Al-Rabeeah said that she began to breastfeed normally and is interacting with her parents. “A lower splint was put (in) to stabilize the pelvis to ensure stability, so that the child can live her life normally and move and walk in the future,” he said, adding that she will need a stoma reversal surgery, as well as physiotherapy and rehabilitation in the coming weeks, and may be able to return to Yemen with her parents within the next two months. King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman directed the transfer of Aisha from Al-Mahra in Yemen to Riyadh, where a specialized team of 25 professionals, including doctors, technicians, and nurses, took part in the grueling operation that ended up with successful separation of the Yemeni girl from her parasitic twin on July 28.
