The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) said that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has provided generous protection services for more than 65,000 of the most vulnerable women and girls in Yemen in 2021. UNFPA said that this support comes within the framework of the partnership between KSrelief and the UN Fund. It noted that the assistance provided by Ksrelief contributed to helping UNFPA improve services provided to reduce gender-based violence in areas where the protection needs of women and girls have increased while supporting eight safe spaces and shelters in nine governorates. The UN Population Fund pointed out that since the beginning of the project, more than 30,000 people have been provided with information about protection services through awareness sessions, and about 800 women facing violence have been trained in livelihood skills, while more than 200 women have received cash assistance. The statement stressed that the partnership between KSrelief and UNFPA in Yemen has helped hundreds of thousands of women and girls access reproductive health information and services since 2015.
