Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali, spokesman of the Ministry of Health, said on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia is currently making available the additional booster dose of vaccine against coronavirus for certain groups of people. The booster third dose is being administered to those for whom the need is proven scientifically and these groups include those who suffer from chronic renal failure or who have undergone organ transplants. In a statement to the Saudi Television, the spokesman said that the ministry is currently preparing and paving the way to administer the third dose of vaccine for the age groups above 60 years, who have taken the second dose eight months ago. Regarding the possibility of administering a third dose, even if it is optional, Dr. Al-Abdel Ali said that there is a possibility to add other categories during the coming period. “The Ministry of Health will announce regular updates in this regard,” he added.
