The Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi met with officials and several heads of international companies on the sidelines of the 5th session of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) held in Riyadh. Al-Qasabi, during the meeting which was also attended by the Deputy Minister and CEO of the National Competitiveness Center Dr. Iman Bint Habbas Al-Mutairi, discussed with US Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Greaves and the accompanying delegation ways to develop economic relations between the two countries. They also discussed ways to take advantage of commercial opportunities in light of the Kingdom"s Vision 2030, and enhance trade exchange between both sides in trade, energy, health care, infrastructure, services, and transportation, technology, communication and ecosystem. The two parties also agreed to form joint working teams to enhance channels of communication and develop mechanisms to advance cooperation in all fields, especially in the commercial and investment sectors. The minister also met with several representatives of international companies specialized in communications and IT, AI, entertainment, investment, and finance, namely: Vice President of Huawei Global Company Hu Tao, Eric Yang, CEO of Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia, and Head of Operations In 500 Global America, Courtney Boyle, Founder and General Partner of Formulate Ventures of America, Morgan Lai. He also met with American Film Producer, Founder and President of Entertainment Media Ventures Sanford Kleiman, President of the Precourt Institute of Energy at Stanford University Professor Yi Cui, Managing Director at Azure Strategy Consulting, Dr. Neil Quilliam, Group Vice President and Head of International Business at Sense Time China George Huang. Dr. Al-Qasabi also discussed with investors various topics of common interest, including investing in startups, developing software and applications with Saudi startups, investing in artificial intelligence, launching accelerators, and business incubators, stimulating innovation, opening quality training centers, enhancing commercial cooperation and the media industry, and supporting research centers, and student communication and cooperation between universities. — SPA
