DUBAI: American aerospace giant Honeywell has appointed Wahaj, a Saudi precision parts manufacturer, as a strategic supplier in a seven-year deal. The deal, which requires Wahaj to provide parts used in wheels, brakes, power systems, and engines for specific aircraft, makes the Saudi company the first Honeywell supplier based in the Kingdom. “Wahaj’s understanding of complex aerospace machining interactions, its deep engineering expertise, and its agile, collaborative approach is exceptionally aligned to the Honeywell Aerospace strategy,” Mike Madsen, president and CEO of Honeywell, said in a statement. The seven-year contract for an undisclosed sum will also allow Wahaj to export a wide range of parts to Honeywell sites in the US, Europe, and Asia. Saeed Nasser, the CEO of Wahaj, described the deal as a “major achievement” in its goal to be a global aerospace and defense manufacturer.
