Saudi Royal Guard Archery Championship concludes in Riyadh

RIYADH: Under the sponsorship of the chief of the Royal Guard, Lt. Gen. Suhail bin Saqr Al-Mutairi, the first Royal Guard Archery Championship was recently concluded in Riyadh. It was attended by the deputy chief of the Royal Guard, Lt. Gen. Ahmad bin Saleh Al-Hamdan, and the president of the Saudi Archery Federation, Prince Saud bin Khaled bin Abdallah. Representatives from the General Intelligence Presidency, the Ministry of National Guard, King Fahd Security College, the Sports Federation for Internal Security Forces, the armed forces and the land forces also attended the championship. The competition was divided into two sections: The teams’ participants and the individual shooters, with the participation of 33 judges. There was a high level of competition in which shooters and teams demonstrated their skills and professionalism in all types of weapons. The head of the supreme committee for the championship, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Said Al-Omari, presented a brief summary of the championship during the ceremony organized for the event. Archery shows started afterwards, during which shooters demonstrated their capabilities and proficiency in archery and its art. They also presented the audience with a view on the championship’s mechanism and the method of counting points.   Finally, the results were announced, the runners-up were honored and the winning teams were crowned.
