Saudi Islamic affairs minister inspects Khamis Mushayt grand mosque project

KHAMIS MUSHAYT: Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh has inspected the project to rebuild the grand mosque in Khamis Mushayt in Asir region. The minister saw an overview of the phases of the project implementation to be carried out over a 12-month period. The project will include the grand mosque and its annexes and a residence for the imam and the muezzin, on a total area estimated at 2,813 sq m. The mosque can accommodate 1,490 worshippers, and the cost of its construction is estimated at more than SR13 million ($3.5 million), borne by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mushait, former governor of Khamis Mushayt. Al-Asheikh praised the professional execution done according to modern designs and the Islamic architectural style adopted, thanking the philanthropist for his donation to rebuild the mosque.
