Inaugurating the activities of the second year of the eighth session of the Shoura Council on Wednesday evening, the Monarch said that the Vision is aimed at ensuring the prosperity of the country and a better future for its people by creating a solid and diversified economy that can meet the global changes. Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman was present in the virtual opening session of the Council. King Salman highlighted the major benefits of the giga projects, including the creation of a large number of jobs for Saudis. “We have blessed the launch of many projects by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman with a future vision that supports the Kingdom’s regulations as well as its sustainability, prosperity, innovation, and business leadership. These bring about myriad job opportunities and huge returns to the gross domestic product (GDP),” he said. While outlining the Kingdom’s domestic and foreign policies, the King drew attention to Saudi Arabia’s global position owing to its Arab and Islamic standing, as well as its pivotal roles in international politics, and its commitment to abide by the covenants towards establishing security, peace, stability and prosperity. King Salman thanked Saudi citizens, expatriates and those involved in fighting the coronavirus for their tremendous efforts. He also thanked the brave soldiers in all sectors, especially on the southern border of the Kingdom. While praying for the goodness of the country and protecting it from all harm, the King mentioned that all the details of the Kingdom’s domestic and foreign policies in the political, administrative and economic realms are contained in the full text of his speech to be circulated to members of the Council. The King appreciated the great works being carried out by the Council members. In his speech at the outset of the session, Shoura Council President Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sheikh emphasized that the Council was keen to keep pace with the development and modernization process. He said that the judicial reforms, initiated by the Crown Prince, reflect the state’s endeavor to develop the Kingdom’s legislative environment. “The Kingdom lives in abundant security and steady prosperity in light of continuous reforms and their achievements. It has proven that this country is capable of realizing its hopes and aspirations as well as confronting and overcoming all challenges and difficulties,” he pointed out.
