Saudi aid center continues health, food projects in Yemen

ADEN: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is supporting a nutrition project for children under the age of five, pregnant women, and nursing mothers in the Yemeni governorates of Aden, Lahij, Taiz, Hodeidah, Hadramout, Hajjah and Marib. The project, which provides therapeutic feeding, healthcare and counseling, has helped 31,278 people in one week, the Saudi Press Agency reported. It comes within a framework of projects provided by KSrelief to alleviate the current humanitarian crisis in Yemen. KSrelief distributed more than 43 tons of food baskets in the Al-Mudhaffar district of Taiz, benefiting 1,496 people from the neediest groups. The project aims to distribute more than 192,000 food baskets weighing more than 20,000 tons to the needy and affected families in 15 Yemeni governorates. KSrelief has also continued rolling out water supply and environmental projects in Hajjah and Saada governorates. NUM BER $3.9 billion Yemen is among the top beneficiaries of KSrelief assistance. According to a recent KSrelief report, the countries and territories that benefited the most from the center’s various projects were Yemen ($3.9 billion), Palestine ($368 million), Syria ($322 million) and Somalia ($209 million).
