RIYADH — The Institute of Public Administration (IPA) will organize the “Innovation and the Future of Government Work” conference on February 9 and 10 in Riyadh, under the patronage of Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi. IPA Director General Dr. Bandar Al-Sajjan said that the conference aims to foresee the future and stimulate a culture of innovation in the practice of government work. “IPA is organizing this important event based on its role as a pioneer and a distinguished partner in supporting administrative development, and keeping pace with global trends in government innovation. The conference will shed light on a number of applied practices and pioneering local, regional and international experiences that had contributed to achieve the efficiency of administrative development in light of the rapid changes that the world is witnessing,” he said. Al-Sajjan said that several eminent local and international speakers who are specialized in the field of innovation and government work will address six sessions of the conference. The sessions would focus on topics such as global trends in government innovation; partnerships and empowerment; the role of innovation in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030; anticipating the future of government work, and the possibilities, opportunities and challenges of government innovation in the kingdom. It is noteworthy that IPA is working to increase the efficiency of public sector employees and educate them, so as to make them capable of shouldering their responsibilities and use their jurisdiction in a manner that would raise the level of administration and support the foundation of national economic development. It also contributes to the administrative organization of government departments, offers consultations on administrative problems referred to it by government ministries and agencies, undertakes administrative research works, and enhances cultural ties in the field of public administration.
