Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund said it was ready to partner with the chambers of commerce and the relevant sectors to promote the tourism industry and achieve projects’ sustainability. The Fund aims to enable one of the most vital sectors in the Kingdom, attract tourism investments and stimulate developments, in line with the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy (NTS). Wahdan El-Kadi, executive director of the business sector of the Tourism Development Fund, emphasized the readiness to cooperate with the relevant chambers to help the private sector face challenges and provide material and logistical support for investors. He emphasized that the Fund provided financial support for several activities and projects in the fields of nature preserves, cultural heritage, and sustainable destinations to better serve the tourists’ experience. Naif Al-Rajhi, Chairman of the Chamber’s Tourism Committee, noted that cooperation with the Tourism Development Fund would contribute to promoting the tourism sector and supporting the private sector, which would reflect positively on the achievement of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. During the meeting, the participants agreed to hold a joint workshop to present the Fund’s programs, objectives, and activities targeting tourism investors. Saudi Arabia aims to raise the number of tourists to 100 million by 2030. The relevant performance indicators show that these visits would include about 55 million tourists coming from abroad, and 45 million tourists from inside the Kingdom, which would generate around one million job opportunities and an increase of 10 percent of the country’s GDP. The Saudi Tourism Authority has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Emirates Airlines to promote Saudi tourism, attracting tourists from all over the world, enriching the travel experience, developing services, and exchanging information.
