GCC chief condemns Houthi's terrorist attack in Jazan

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf has strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist militia"s attack, using bomb-laden drone on King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, which resulted in a number of injuries, in a systematic and deliberate manner, targeting safe civilians and civilian facilities, in flagrant violation of international norms and laws. He stressed that the Houthi terrorist militia’s continuation of its immoral practices of trying to target civilians and civilian objects, as well as targeting a civilian airport, is a war crime. He reiterated the GCC"s solidarity with Saudi Arabia against everything that targets its security, stability and territorial integrity, stressing the need for the international community to take immediate and decisive stance and measures to halt these hostile acts, targeting vital and civil facilities and Saudi Arabia"s security, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. In Cairo, the Arab Parliament condemned the terrorist Houthi militia targeting of King Abdullah Airport in Jazan using a drone, stressing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the Arab national security. The Arab Parliament said, in a statement, Tuesday that targeting King Abdullah Airport is a dangerous escalation and a cowardly act that threatens the security, safety and lives of civilians and travelers. The parliament expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia regarding these terrorist attacks, firmly standing with it against any threat to its security and stability, and supporting it in all measures it takes to preserve its security and the safety of its citizens and expatriates. In Abu Dhabi, the UAE has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian-backed terrorist militia"s targeting of King Abdullah Airport in Jazan with a drone. In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE affirmed that the attempt to target the airport and the resulting injury of a number of civilians is a cowardly act of terrorism and a war crime that requires a deterrent response to all that threatens the security, safety and life of civilians. The UAE calls on the world community to support the actions and measures taken by the coalition forces to support legitimacy in Yemen to stop the Houthi militia targeting civilian objects, and to deter their threats from the countries of the region. The Ministry reiterated the UAE"s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of these terrorist attacks, standing in line with it against any threat to its security, and supporting all measures it takes to preserve its security and the safety of its citizens and expatriates. In Cairo, Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist Houthi militia targeting of King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, using a drone, resulting in the injury of a number of civilians, in addition to the material losses caused by this cowardly terrorist attack. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday, in a statement, that the repeated Houthi militia targeting of vital civilian facilities, including airports in Saudi Arabia, and innocent civilians is a flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law and all norms, and a blatant threat to the security and stability of the Kingdom, the safety of civil aviation and freedom of air navigation. Egypt stressed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the measures it is taking to confront these despicable terrorist attacks, stressing the close link between the security and stability of the two brotherly countries. In Amman, the Jordanian government condemned Tuesday the continuous attacks by the Iranian-backed terrorist militia on the territory of Saudi Arabia, the latest of which was the launch of a drone directed towards King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, resulting in a number of civilian casualties. The official spokesman for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Haitham Abu Al-Ful, affirmed his country"s absolute support for Saudi Arabia, in the face of whatever threatens its security and the security of its people, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. In Manama, Bahrain strongly condemned the Iranian-backed terrorist militia"s launch of a drone at King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, injuring a number of people. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the continuation of such terrorist acts on civilian areas is a flagrant violation of international law that undermines the security of the Kingdom and the region, a development that requires serious and quick action by the international community to deter such criminal terrorist acts and hold the perpetrators accountable. The ministry affirmed Kuwait"s firm and complete stand by the Kingdom in whatever measures it takes to maintain its security and stability, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. In Doha, Qatar too expressed its strong condemnation of the attack on King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in injury to civilians. In a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency (QNA) Tuesday, Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that targeting civilian installations and vital facilities is a serious act of sabotage that contradicts all international norms and laws. The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar"s firm position on rejecting violence and criminal and sabotage acts, regardless of the motives and reasons. The ministry also expressed the State of Qatar"s wishes of speedy recovery for the injured. Meanwhile, the Muslim World League (MWL) condemned the heinous attack carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia on King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, resulting in the injury of a number of civilians of different nationalities. MWL Secretary General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa condemned the sectarian terrorist militia’s continuation of its crimes by targeting civilians and civilian facilities and installations, taking advantage of the commitment of the Arab coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, to the moral values and principles, and international law and norms, stressing the importance of the international community"s standing against these terrorist crimes and those behind them, which systematically and persistently target civilians and the safety of civil aviation and freedom of air navigation. In his name and on behalf of the MWL’s bodies and councils around the world, he reiterated the full solidarity with Saudi Arabia towards everything that threatens its security and stability, supporting all measures it takes to preserve its security and the safety of its citizens and residents. In London, the United Kingdom condemned the terrorist attack launched by the Houthi militia with a drone on King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, resulting in the injury of a number of innocent civilians. British Minister of Middle East Affairs Amanda Milling expressed her condemnation of this attack, which occurred yesterday evening, stating that these continuous terrorist operations carried out by the Houthis threaten the lives of innocent people, and must stop immediately. In Islamabad, Pakistan strongly condemned the drone attack which was launched by the Houthi militia targeting King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, and resulting in the injury of a number of innocent civilians. In a statement issued Tuesday, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs wished those injured in the attack a speedy recovery, stating that these attacks violate not only international law but also threaten peace and security of Saudi Arabia and the region. The statement said that Pakistan calls for immediate cessation of these attacks and reaffirms its full support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia against any threat to its security and territorial integrity. — SPA
