GCC Secretary General Condemns Houthi Militia's Terrorist Attack on Jazan Region, Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, December 25, 2021, SPA -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf has condemned in the strongest terms the "cowardly" terrorist attack on Samtah Governorate, Jazan Region, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the death and injury of many Saudis and residents as a result of the fall of a military projectile launched by the Houthi terrorist militia. He stressed that the Houthi terrorist militia’s continued immoral practices of trying to target civilians and civilian objects, as well as targeting civilian neighborhoods, are considered as a war crime by deliberately targeting civilians and protected civilian objects with special protection under the international humanitarian law and its rules. He added that their systematic and deliberate targeting, and the targeting of the safe civilians and civilian installations, are a flagrant violation of the international norms and laws, and the international community must assume its responsibilities towards Houthi practices. The GCC Secretary General reiterated the GCC countries' solidarity with the Kingdom against everything that targets its security, stability and territorial integrity, stressing the necessity for the international community to take immediate and decisive measures to stop these aggressive acts targeting vital and civil installations and the security of the Kingdom. --SPA 17:37 LOCAL TIME 14:37 GMT 0019 www.spa.gov.sa/w1669752
