PNU Prize for Women’s Excellence honors winners of fourth edition

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh handed over awards for winners of the fourth edition of the Princess Nourah Prize for Women’s Excellence on Tuesday. Dr. Maha Al-Mzeini won the award in the field of health sciences on women’s health; Dr. Manal Al-Kahtani won the award in the field of natural sciences on energy and renewable energy; Abla Al-Disimani for social works on women’s awqaf (endowments); Latifah Al-Tamimi for economic projects on entrepreneur projects that contributed to supporting inbound tourism, and Amani Al-Wheibi for art works on the Arabic calligraphy. The minister, in his speech, said: “I am happy to join your celebration in a prize carrying the name of the first Saudi woman that supported and encouraged Saudi girls to seek education, which is the Princess Nourah Prize for Women’s Excellence.” He noted that it is the first annual award for the Saudi woman accredited by a decision of the Cabinet and received the generous support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. The prize targets the distinguished achievements of the Saudi woman in the fields of knowledge and culture as well as all courses of social service. Princess Nourah Prize for Women’s Excellence is an annual celebration that is held under the umbrella of the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University upon a Cabinet decision, and highlights the achievements of Saudi women and sheds light on distinguished and creative Saudi women. — SPA
