The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Jeddah Islamic Port has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,6 million Captagon pills, found hidden in a caravan shipment intended for trips. The authority coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the pills in the Kingdom, which resulted in the arrest of three persons. The authority reiterated that it will continue to tighten control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports and take action to counter smuggling attempts, to achieve its strategy and contribute to the security and protection of the society.
