Riyadh, January 26, 2023, SPA-- The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam has succeeded in foiling an attempt to smuggle 2,972,400 Captagon pills, which were found hidden in a consignment coming to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through King Abdulaziz Port. ZATCA has explained that a consignment arrived in the Kingdom through the King Abdulaziz port, and during the customs inspection process through security techniques, the pills were found hidden inside wooden planks. ZATCA has explained that after completing the seizure process and in coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the Captagon pills, two involved people were arrested. ZATCA has confirmed its determination to continue tightening customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports and its standing against smuggling attempts to achieve one of the most important pillars of its strategy represented in the security and protection of the society. ZATCA has also called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting society and the national economy by contacting the Authority's designated number for security reports (1910), via e-mail (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or by the international number (00966114208417).
