The United Nations expressed strong condemnation of the recent terrorist Houthi attacks on several energy and other civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said at the daily press briefing on Monday: “These actions destroy prospects for peace and regional stability and harm the ongoing mediation efforts of our Special Envoy Hans Grundberg." He stressed that international humanitarian law prohibits attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure. Dujarric called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation. The United Nations strongly urged the parties to engage constructively and without preconditions with Envoy Hans Grundberg and his mediation efforts, to push the political process forward to reach a comprehensive settlement to end the conflict in Yemen. — SPA
