NewYork, Mar. 21, 2022, SPA -- The United Nations expressed strong condemnation of the recent terrorist Houthi attacks on several energy and other civilian facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “These actions destroy prospects for peace and regional stability and harm the ongoing mediation efforts of our Special Envoy Hans Grundberg, stressing that international humanitarian law prohibits attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure,” UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said at the daily press briefing. Dujarric called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation, noting that the United Nations strongly urges the parties to engage constructively and without preconditions with Envoy Hans Grundberg and his mediation efforts, with the aim of pushing the political process forward to reach a comprehensive negotiated settlement to end the conflict in Yemen. --SPA 00:09 LOCAL TIME 21:09 GMT 0002 www.spa.gov.sa/w1710554
