Saudi Arabia, Pakistan agree to strengthen cooperation

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on Tuesday agreed to further strengthen their cooperation on regional and international matters, keeping close cooperation on the international stage. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal Bin Farhan exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, in additon to regional and global issues, his office said in a statement. In his remarks, the Saudi foreign minister underscored that Riyadh attaches importance to its "fraternal and strategic" relationship with Pakistan, conveying the Kingdom"s appreciation for the role played by Pakistan in the Organizaion of Islamic Cooperation. Moreover, the Saudi foreign minister called on Pakistani"s Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday, discussing with him matters of mutual interest. The visiting Saudi dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s role in the Afghanistan situation and regional stability as a whole, pledging to further improve diplomatic cooperation with Islamabad at all levels. — KUNA
