King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE) has launched the fourth phase of the Renewable Energy Technologies Localization Initiative through floating notebooks to tender bids through Etimad Platform. The initiative aims at localizing, developing and proving promising technologies in the renewable energy field through working with universities, research centers and private sector companies to offer innovative technological solutions to produce and store energy and find solutions to deal with the challenges of difficult environment circumstances in Saudi Arabia. This is in addition to developing technologies suitable for renewable energy with the aim of achieving a balanced national energy mix and enhancing the growth of private sector companies in the field to enable them compete regionally and globally. Renewable Energy Technologies Localization Initiative includes a program to develop an initial prototype for renewable energy technologies, a program to develop renewable energy products, a program of a feasibility study to localize and market renewable energy technologies, and a program to prove and market the renewable energy technologies. These programs were designed to include all phases of developing technologies starting from the initial prototype, developing the product to the marketing stage, where they target several categories including universities, research centers and private sector companies. KACARE calls on interested institutions to participate in these programs through initial application through the initiative’s website and receiving the initial evaluation before applying on Etimad Platform.
