— The Kingdom has received four certificates of excellence during the World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2022 (WSIS 2022) for Saudi Arabia’s excellent innovative projects, increasing the number of certificates of excellence that Saudi Arabia has received to 30. The event is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland, and is being held under the theme of ICTs for Well-Being, Inclusion and Resilience. The certificate of appreciation were granted to “Ekhtibar” platform offered by the Ministry of Education for the category access to information and knowledge. The certificate was given to the program for developing digital government capacity offered by the Digital Government Authority for the category building capacity. The certificate was awarded to the cybersecurity challenge offered by National Cybersecurity Authority for the category of building trust and security while using ICTs. The fourth certificate was given to the project of supporting business development offered by the Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University for the e-sciences category. Saudi Arabia has achieved these certificates of excellence for its competitiveness with global projects and winning them reflects the status of the communications sector at the international level. It also reflects the level of development of the sector’s infrastructure as a result of the continuous support it receives from the wise leadership that seeks to speed up the implementation of digital transformation projects and activating technology in various sectors, including government services, healthcare, education and entertainment. — SPA
