The urgent surgical intervention of a Saudi medical team saved a Pakistani woman pilgrim from brain death. The Ministry of Health said that the medical team from the Neurosurgery Department of King Abdulaziz Hospital, a member of the Makkah Health Cluster, performed an urgent surgery to save the life of a 65-year-old pilgrim. The patient was fully recovered and discharged from hospital in good health after the successful operation, the ministry said. The pilgrim was in complete coma and breathing difficulty when she was brought to the emergency department of the hospital. After conducting the necessary medical examinations and ultrasound scanning, it was found that she was suffering from a massive cerebral hemorrhage. During the operation, the skull was opened and the bleeding was stopped. After that, the patient was transferred to intensive care unit and then to the Neurosurgery Department until her full recovery.
