DUBAI: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) announced on Sunday its achievements in various humanitarian aid programs taking place in Yemen.  Among these initiatives was KSRelief’s Project Masam, which during the first week of September helped dismantle a total of 734 mines planted by Houthi militias, according to state agency SPA. This included ‘10 anti-personnel mines, 306 anti-tank mines, 415 unexploded ordnance and 3 explosive devices’, wrote SPA. Since its initiation, the project helped dismantle as many as 356,758 mines in the war-torn country. Meanwhile, KSRelief said during July it provided various medical services to 186 Yemeni people who have lost their limbs through Aden’s Prosthetic Limbs and Rehabilitation Center.   Saudi Arabia’s philanthropic organization also helped deliver 31 tons of medical supplies to the National Drug Supply Program at the Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Population.

Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population, Qassem Buhaibah, expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom’s ‘generous and continuous support’ for Yemen’s health sector. The initiatives fall under humanitarian projects provided by Saudi Arabia, and implemented by KSrelief, to alleviate the suffering of people in Yemen.
