Hanan Al-Ahmadi to lead Shoura delegation to IPU Assembly in Kigali

A Shoura Council delegation, headed by Assistant Speaker Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi, is scheduled to participate in the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which will be held in Kigali, Rwanda. Al-Ahmadi stressed the importance of the participation of the Shoura Council in international parliamentary events and effective activities during them as part of the parliamentary diplomacy that the council uses to enhance the role of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in efforts in cooperation with friendly countries and partners around the world in facing global crises and maintaining international security, peace and stability. She also referred to the big role of women in the Shoura Council at the legislative, oversight and parliamentary diplomacy levels. "This parliamentary event is considered an opportunity to share with the world what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved in women empowerment, especially that women are a main and effective pillar in realizing the Saudi Vision 2030." The assistant speaker concluded her remarks by saying that the international parliamentary meetings provide a precious opportunity to enhance dialogue and cooperation among legislative councils and activate parliamentary efforts to support the government in enacting regulations and laws that can contribute to finding successful solutions to circumstances and crises the world is witnessing at all levels. The delegation includes Secretary General of the Shoura Council Mohammed Al-Muteiri, and council members Ibrahim Al-Mifleh, Huda Al-Huleisi, Major General Abdulrahman Al-Harbi and Raeda Abu Nian, in addition to several officials. — SPA
