Ashraf Telfah was found in critical condition in his Cairo apartment On Monday, local media purported the actor had been assaulted AMMAN: Egyptian authorities have found no criminal suspicions in the death of famous Jordanian actor Ashraf Telfah, who was found unconscious in a Cairo apartment on Sunday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said preliminary investigations conducted by Egyptian authorities and relayed to the Jordanian Embassy in Cairo found no foul play in the actor’s demise in Egypt, reported Jordan News Agency. The 47-year-old actor was found in critical condition in his Cairo apartment before being taken to a nearby hospital, where he died two days later. The hospital report cited a cerebral hemorrhage, pulmonary edema, impaired consciousness and poor circulation as the causes of death, the ministry’s spokesman Sinan Majali said on Tuesday. While reviewing footage from closed-circuit cameras placed around the apartment, Egyptian authorities reported to the embassy that they found no evidence that anyone had broken into the building, according to Majali. Telfah obtained a bachelor’s degree in acting and directing from Yarmouk University in 1997. He began his artistic career in 2006 through television dramas. On Monday, local media purported that the actor had been assaulted. The Jordanian Artists Association issued a statement following the alleged assault saying Telfah’s health condition was critical as he was suffering from a brain hemorrhage and fell into a coma after the assault.
