Cairo, Jumada II 18, 1435, Apr 18, 2014, SPA -- Tunisia said Friday it was considering scaling down the number of diplomats it has in Libya, a day after gunmen kidnapped an envoy in the capital, Tripoli, dpa reported. "The Foreign Ministry is looking at the possibility of reducing the number of diplomats in Libya in response to the abduction operation," Tunisian Foreign Minister Monji Hamdi said. Tunisian diplomat al-Aroussi Kontassi was seized in central Tripoli on Thursday, becoming the second staffer at the Tunisian embassy there to be kidnapped within a month. Hamdi told Tunisian radio Express FM that the kidnappers were demanding the release of Libyans held in Tunisia over involvement in attacks against security forces around three years ago. "We will try to interact with the abducting group to secure safety of the diplomats and ensure their release," said Hamdi, without elaborating. -- SPA 21:26 LOCAL TIME 18:26 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1222179
