Yemeni Minister of Planning and International Cooperation: Donors Conference is pivotal turning point towards Yemeni crisis

Aden, May 31, 2020, SPA -- Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of Yemen, Dr. Najib Ouj, expressed Yemen's appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its generous support for the Yemeni economy and the constant humanitarian and development support. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, he praised the organization by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in partnership with the United Nations, of the Donors' Conference for Yemen 2020 virtually on Tuesday to increase awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and to announce financial pledges to meet basic needs in Yemen. He considered the organization of the conference as a pivotal turning point in the importance of the international community's shouldering of responsibility and said that the International support for Yemen during the Geneva Donors Conference contributed to alleviating the suffering of a wide segment of the Yemeni people. He drew attention to the fact that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia financial support contributed to economic stability and coverage of the import purchase bill for food and medicines from abroad, in addition to supporting oil products for electricity, and development projects undertaken by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen. He praised King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre KSrelief for its continuous support in the humanitarian relief field for the various regions of Yemen.
