Jeddah, Dec 2, 2022, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's vote by majority on 5 crucial resolutions, 4 of which relate to Palestine, and the 5th on the occupied Syrian Golan. The resolutions relate to the mandate and work of the Committee on the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, the Division of Palestinian Rights in the United Nations Secretariat, the media program on the Palestinian cause, and the basic principles of a "peaceful solution" to the Palestinian cause. One of the resolutions includes a request from the United Nations to commemorate (75) for the Palestinian "Nakba" disaster. The OIC praised the positions of the countries that contributed to sponsoring and supporting these resolutions, affirming their commitment to international law and in line with their historical positions based on the principles of truth, justice and peace. The Organization renewed its call on the international community to redouble its efforts to implement United Nations resolutions on the Palestinian issue and the occupied Arab territories, and to enable the Palestinian people their legitimate right to establish their independent state with East Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital. --SPA 00:51 LOCAL TIME 21:51 GMT 0001 www.spa.gov.sa/2405985
