Washington, Shawwal 15, 1432, Sep 13, 2011, SPA - US President Barack Obama is to travel in November to Australia to mark the 60th anniversary of the defence agreement between the two nations, the White House said Monday. Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard invited Obama to Australia from November 16-17 for the anniversary of the ANZUS (The Australia, New Zealand, United States Security Treaty). Obama will make the trip from Hawaii, where he and other Pacific leaders will be attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders' conference earlier that month, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA". Talks between Obama and Gillard "will provide the two leaders an opportunity to build on the APEC agenda and expand bilateral cooperation to increase global economic growth, trade and jobs," the White House said. They will also discuss issues ahead of the East Asia Summit that week in Bali. --SPA 10:59 LOCAL TIME 07:59 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/924483
