The attack took place in the Karma area of Khairpur district, some 461 kilometres north-east of Karachi, the capital of Sindh province, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA". Police official Ghulam Mustafa said by phone that "seven tankers were completely destroyed in the pre-dawn attack from an unknown number of gunmen when those lorries were parked at the roadside motel since Sunday." "The attackers opened fire on the parked vehicles and successfully managed to flee while one person who worked at the motel was injured," Mustafa said.
