The five soldiers died after a roadside bomb hit their vehicle in Pushtun Zarghun district, said Muhaiuddin Noori, spokesman for the governor of Herat province. A Ministry of Defence spokesman confirmed the incident and death toll, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA". In an incident in neighboring Badghis province, a suicide bombing killed three members of the same family.
