PRISTINA, Jamad Al-Awwal 03, 1432 H / April 07, 2011, SPA -- A Kosovo assembly official says lawmakers have been called to elect the country's next president after a top court ousted the previous leader, according to AP. Celal Ilyas, a spokesman for the legislature, said Thursday that Atifete Jahjaga and Suzana Novoberdaliu have been nominated for the post. The ruling coalition and the main opposition party agreed to back Jahjaga as a compromise candidate after a top court ousted Behgjet Pacolli. The Constitutional Court said Pacolli's election in February breached the constitution because an opposition boycott left fewer lawmakers then required by law for the vote to be valid. The opposition threatened to repeat the boycott if Pacolli ran again. The court also said at least two candidates must be nominated by the lawmakers. -- SPA 18:06 LOCAL TIME 15:06 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/881418
