Berlin, Rabi'II 25, 1433, Mar 18, 2012, SPA - Germany's Federal Convention began meeting on Sunday to elect a new president. The presidential contest is between Joachim Gauck and Beate Klarsfeld. Gauck, 72, who is not affiliated to any political party, is certain to be elected, as he enjoys the support of five of the major political parties, according to a report of DPA.
