Beijing, May 24, 2010, SPA -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that North Korea's sinking of a South Korean warship has created a «highly precarious» security situation in the region and that the Obama administration is working to prevent an escalation of tension that could lead to conflict. Speaking to reporters in Beijing, Clinton said all of North Korea's neighbors, including China, understand the seriousness of the matter and want to «contain» it. South Korea said earlier it would bring the March sinking of the ship to the U.N. Security Council for possible action, according to a report of the Associated Press. --SPA 11:58 LOCAL TIME 08:58 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/784438
