Niamey, Safar 27, 1432, Jan 31, 2011, SPA -- Voters in Niger were called to the polls Monday in presidential elections, in a step to return the country to civilian rule. Ten candidates are contesting the election, including a woman for the first time in the country's history. Run-off elections are set for March 12, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA."
