Washington, May 01, 2010, SPA -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday said that the Middle East peace process will get back on track next week, though they are not the U.S.-brokered direct talks involving Israeli and Palestinians that the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama wanted to see. George Mitchell, the special U.S. envoy to the Mideast, will mediate the discussions when he travels to the region. His visit will follow a weekend meeting of Arab League diplomats. Currently, there are indirect talks, with U.S. officials meeting with one side at a time. There are no negotiations planned where Israelis and Palestinians are at the same table. "Ultimately, we want to see the parties in direct negotiations and working out all the difficult issues that they must," Hillary Clinton told reporters after meeting with Kuwait's Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammad Sabah al-Salem al Sabah. --MORE 10:35 LOCAL TIME 07:35 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/775470
