KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, June 29, SPA -- An Afghan official says the police chief of the southern province of Kandahar was among 10 officers killed during a gunbattle. Ahmad Wali Karzai said police chief Matiullah Qati waskilled Monday during the battle inside a government complexin the city of Kandahar. Ahmad Wali Karzai is the president ofKandahar's provincial council and the brother of PresidentHamid Karzai.
