ANKARA, Turkey, December 06, SPA -- Turkey"s prime minister has ruledout sending additional troops to Afghanistan but says thecountry is willing to train the Afghan army and police. Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Sunday before his departure fortalks with U.S. President Barack Obama that Turkey hasalready contributed the «necessary number» of troops. Turkey, NATO"s sole Muslim member, took over the rotatingcommand of the NATO peacekeeping operation in Kabul lastmonth and doubled its number of troops to around 1,750. The Associated Press quoted Erdogan as saying that Turkish military and police are ready totrain their Afghan counterparts.
