Washington, September 19, SPA -- US President Barack Obama will meet newly elected Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama next week on the sidelines of the United Nations summit, the White House said Friday. The meeting on Wednesday is one of a series of bilateral contacts planned by Obama during the annual gathering of world leaders in New York. Obama will also hold talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Wednesday, the German News Agency "DPA" reported. Hatoyama has suggested he wants to review Japan's long-standing security alliance with the United States. The White House in a statement announcing the meeting said Obama looked forward to "exploring ways in which the two countries can deepen theirpartnership."--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/701409
