Kuwaits National Assembly votes in favor of PMs cooperation

KUWAIT, December 16, 2009, SPA -- Parliament majority voted against a non-cooperation motion tabled against Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah during a closed-door session on Wednesday, overwhelmingly renewing confidence in the performance of the premier and his government. "The closed-door session came upon the request of the government to discuss the non-cooperation request tabled by Member of Parliament (MP) Faisal Al-Mislim last week", National Assembly Speaker Jassim Al-khorafi said after he called for an open session to declare the outcome of the voting. The result was 13 members of the National Assembly approved the non-cooperation motion, 35 voted against it while one member abstained, Khorafi said, declaring the parliament"s "confidence and cooperation with the Prime Minister".
