Jeddah, December 18, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu concluded recently a visit to the Netherlands. During his visit to the Hague, he made several official contacts with the Dutch authorities, according to a latest press release of the OIC. Ihsanoglu's meeting with the Dutch Foreign Minister, Maxime Verhagen focused on the recent developments in the international arena as well as on the OIC-EU and OIC-Netherlands relations. They updated each other on the developments related to the issues of mutual concern since their last meeting in Madrid in January 2008. Ihsanoglu also met the Dutch State Secretary for Justice Ms. Nebahat Albayrak during his visit. Besides the meetings, he attended a working lunch with the OIC Ambassadors based in the Hague. It should be mentioned here that his visit to the Netherlands came in continuation to his recent visits to Finland and Denmark under the framework of strengthening the cooperation between the OIC and EU Member States in order to find workable remedies to the looming challenges faced by both Europe and the Muslim World. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/617394
