DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan, December 22, SPA -- Suspected U.S. missile strikes killed at least eight people Monday in northwest Pakistan, officials and witnesses were quoted as saying by Associated Press. Bakht Janan, a local security official at a check post,said an unmanned drone aircraft began circling over thevillage of Kari Khel around 3 a.m., then fired missiles attwo vehicles several hours later. Witnesses told theAssociated Press that one of the vehicles had been blastingaway with an anti-aircraft gun at the drone. Four people were killed as missiles hit the vehicle and anadjacent, fortlike house, while four others died and onewas injured in the second vehicle five miles (eightkilometers) away by dirt track.
