Kuala Lumpur, Sept 25, SPA --Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Abdel Raziq said the Organization of the Islamic Conference is not only a platform for enhancing cooperation among the Muslim countries, but it is also a platform for confronting accusations which associate Islam with extremist activities at the international arena. Abdel Raziq, who was speaking today on the occasion of the 40th anniversary for the establishment of the OIC, said negative impression about Islam is steadily growing with an adverse impact notably on Muslims residing in the west. It is the responsibility of the Muslim nation to project the true values of Islam, he said noting that Islam advocates tolerance and respect of others. On the Palestinian issue, the Malaysian Premier expressed unhappiness about the bad situation pertaining to the Palestinian cause despite the ongoing intensive international efforts for solving the problem.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/703095
